Restylane is a line of injectable hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that includes several varieties targeted to skin concerns on different areas of the face. Each Restylane product has been chemically engineered to fulfill a specific purpose, which ensures the best possible results.
Restylane is formulated to act like the hyaluronic acid that your body produces, and can help stimulate increased collagen production over time.
Injectables and Facial Care Services
Below are specific Restylane services and how they can treat signs of aging to reveal younger-looking skin:
Classic Restylane filler is ideal for treating facial wrinkles and folds, especially in the nasolabial area and under-eye area. It can also be used to plump lips. Restylane’s natural looking results have made it a fixture of the industry.
A favorite amongst patients as a lip filler, or for augmentation, Restylane Refyne smooths the nasolabial folds that run from the sides of your nose toward the corners of your mouth and the lines that run from the corner of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines). Refyne uses advanced XpresHAn Technology™, chemically crosslinking the gel to support natural expression and movement.
Restylane Silk’s innovative formula was specifically designed to smooth fine lines around the lips, also called “smoker’s lines,” and add volume. Silk uses smaller molecules in a smoother gel formulation to help achieve beautifully-defined lips.
Restylane Lyft was created to correct volume loss in the cheeks due to age. It can also be used for cheek augmentation, for those who want to perfect their face’s natural shape. Besides adding volume to the cheeks, Lyft can also smooth marionette lines and make creases in the nasolabial fold less pronounced.
Restylane Defyne is geared towards nasolabial folds and marionette lines, and is targeted towards deeper lines. Defyne also uses XpresHAn Technology™ and features a crosslinked gel to support natural expression.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS*
Treatment with fillers like Restylane doesn’t take long. Many patients can be in and out of the office in an hour, and the procedure itself may take only about 20-30 minutes, depending on your specific regimen.
This depends on the Restylane formula. Most Restylane formulas include Lidocaine, which will help keep you numb and minimize discomfort during and after injection. There will always be some discomfort associated with an injection, whether you’re treated with a formula that includes Lidocaine or not. We apply a topical numbing agent to the area 30 minutes prior to treatment to help alleviate any discomfort.
Results are usually seen instantly, though injection site swelling and irritation immediately after treatment may conceal results for up to 2 weeks for some people. Our medical team will give you guidance on post-treatment care.
Restylane treatment is not permanent. When the effects of treatment wear off, you may choose to come in for another round. Most people space these out by about 6 months. Based on your results, we’ll give you guidance on how often you should undergo treatment to maintain a youthful look.
Restylane treatment is temporary but does last for multiple months, depending on which formula you’re treated with. Most will start to notice that their results are fading around the 4-6 month mark. Some Restylane treatments last longer, even over a year. Ask your provider how long you can expect to see your results.
Restylane is a filler, so it will add volume and minimize wrinkles where it’s used, depending on the Restylane product in question. If you’re dealing with skin texture issues, a chemical peel or custom facial can address your needs. If you’re noticing that your deepest lines are related to your expressions, especially on the forehead, Botox or Dysport might be an additional treatment to consider to relax the muscles that cause those lines to crop up.
