The Juvéderm family is known for having formulas with varying consistencies and strengths to treat various areas. All are made from Hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring substance which is also found in the human body. This substance delivers nutrients to the skin and helps hydrate the skin by holding in moisture. It also acts as a cushioning agent. When injected, Juvéderm treatment smooths wrinkles, plumps lips, and even boosts cheeks.
Additionally, Juvéderm stimulates treatment areas for natural production of collagen for long-lasting results. All Juvéderm lines come with an XC option with lidocaine to minimize pain during treatment. Treatment with Juvéderm is a great way to reverse some of the signs of aging without having to commit to weekly follow-ups.
Injectables and Facial Care Services
The below list discusses the various Juvéderm formulas and their specific treatment niches:
Juvéderm Ultra is a “next generation” injectable gel that is ideal for the use in the nasolabial area (smile lines) and lips. It offers a natural look, thanks to its special smooth gel formulation. It offers proven results to smooth skin and minimize the appearance of “parentheses” wrinkles. Results typically last 4-6 months.
Juvéderm Ultra Plus™
Juvederm Ultra Plus is used in the deep nasolabial folds, marionette lines and lips. Juvéderm Ultra and Ultra Plus utilize the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid possible. Results typically last 9-12 months.
Like classic Juvéderm, Juvéderm Vollure is also ideal for use in the nasolabial area. However, Vollure features an advanced formula that delivers additional volume and longer-lasting results. Patients can expect smoother, younger looking skin for up to 18 months.
Juvéderm Volbella is a new member of the Juvéderm family that works like magic for fine lines above and below the lips, thanks to its thinner formula. It also helps smooth away fine lines in the area.
Juvéderm Voluma injectable gel is the first and only filler that is FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. Its larger molecules work to give you a subtle lift, helping to restore contour and a more youthful profile. Results can last up to 2 years with follow up treatments in between.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Treatment with fillers like Juvéderm doesn’t take long. Many patients can be in and out of the office in an hour, and the procedure itself may take only about 20 minutes, depending on your specific regimen.
This depends on the Juvéderm formula. XC formulas contain lidocaine, which will help keep you numb and minimize discomfort during and after injection. There will always be some discomfort associated with an injection, whether you’re treated with an XC formula or not. We apply a topical numbing solution to the area 30 minutes prior to treatment to help alleviate any discomfort.
Results are usually seen instantly, though injection site swelling and irritation immediately after treatment may conceal results for up to two weeks for some people. Our medical team will give you guidance on post-treatment care.
Juvéderm treatment is not permanent. When the effects of treatment wear off, you may choose to come in for another round. Most people space these out by about 6 months. Based on your results, we’ll give you guidance on how often you should undergo treatment to maintain a youthful look.
Juvéderm treatments are temporary. Depending on the formula used, you results might last up to 4 months, or potentially over a year. Check with our 4Ever Young medical team to find out how long you can expect results to last for your specific treatment regimen.
Juvéderm is a filler, so it will add volume and minimize wrinkles where it’s used, depending on the Juvéderm product in question. If you’re dealing with skin texture issues, a chemical peel or custom facial can address your needs. If you’re noticing that your deepest lines are related to your expressions, especially on the forehead, Botox or Dysport might be an additional treatment to consider to relax the muscle movements that cause those lines.
